Intense revving, the tapes fly up, clutches are dropped and the dash for turn one is on…. There are many words you could pick from the dictionary that could describe the first few seconds of every speedway race…perhaps exciting or even addictive but after 35 years glued to this wonderful sport there is one word that springs to mind more readily than any other……….. anticipation !

4 riders bursting into turn one has got to be one of the most breath holding unpredictable features of any sport anywhere in the world.

Since my first meeting at the Shay in Halifax during April of 1972 , and after many thousands of motorway miles, and meetings since I have finally got round to channelling a life’s passion into something shareable with fellow Speedway enthusiasts.

Since that very first meeting when I went home with my prized possession of Eric Boocock’s goggle tear off, and a shiny new enamel Dukes badge I have collected all manor of memorabilia. I think my best day was getting Ole Olsen and Ivan Mauger’s autographs within about 5 minutes of each other back in 1974 ! ( yes I still remember it vividly ) and its that which prompted the creation of this shop.

Speedway memorabilia Shop’s aim is to bring together in one place quality speedway items that will appeal to any speedway fan young and old alike.

I would warmly welcome any input, suggestions or content to improve this site and I can be contacted at:

Thanks, and best wishes to all
